PiDP-8/I

The PiDP-8/I is a 2/3-scale reproduction of a PDP-8/I. The plexiglass front panel covers a custom PCB which links all of the LEDs and switches to a Raspberry Pi running a customized version of SIMH. It is a kit requiring assembly; specifically, the LEDs, switches, RPi connector, and a few pieces of supporting circuitry need to be soldered to the PCB.

In addition to programming it via the front-panel switches, several operating systems are available which support terminals. Connecting such terminals can be done via serial cable or over a network. My particular unit is at my desk at work, and connection to the network is not permitted. I didn't want to install a serial port in the case, so I went with a bluetooth serial connection.
